Undertaken in association with Matthews Architecture the Middle School was our first project constructed at Great Southern Grammar School. The curved facade in reminiscent of the surrounding rolling hills with the mottled brickwork symbolising the patchwork landscape of the region.
The building comprises middle school classrooms, amenities, an undercover area and a science laboratory. The science room protrudes through the facade indicating its different function to the rest of the building.
The curved wall provides shelter from the south and the building opens up to the north creating outdoor space between the new and existing buildings. A free span poly carbonate roof provides a covered area filled with light for the middle school students to enjoy.
